Former Alabama S Landon Collins has never lacked confidence, and the star defender has brought his outspoken personality to the New York Giants.

Though the Dallas Cowboys finished last season with an NFC-best 13-3 record behind former Mississippi State QB Dak Prescott and rookie star RB Ezekiel Elliott, Collins believes the Giants are actually the team to beat this fall.

After Prescott said at the ESPYs that the Cowboys would win the NFC East division in 2017, Collins told ESPN.com that he commented on an Instagram picture with Prescott’s quote, challenging the star quarterback’s assertion:

“I commented right underneath his picture. I said, ‘I highly doubt that.’ They do not control the [NFC] East. It’s over with. We’re going to have a run for it. I mean, they’re not going to win, I can tell you that much. We’re definitely going to take over.”

The Giants do indeed have a talented roster that could challenge the Cowboys for NFC East supremacy. Whatever happens this fall, though, Collins said he’s simply ready to get back on the football field:

“I’m ready to get back. It has been too long,” Collins said. “I’m ready to put some shoulder pads in some people. Knock some heads off.”

Collins snagged five interceptions for the Giants last year, returning one for a touchdown. He also had 100 tackles and four sacks while playing in all 16 games.
