Report: Houston Nutt's attorney presents settlement offer to Ole Miss
Former Ole Miss coach Houston Nutt has been a thorn in the side of his former employer all summer.
After suing the Rebels for throwing him under the bus in regards to recent NCAA violations, a request for Hugh Freeze’s phone records uncovered a call to an escort service that forced the coach’s resignation.
Now, however, it seems Nutt is ready for the battle to come to an end, as Yahoo! Sports reporter Pat Forde tweeted on Friday night that Nutt’s attorney, Thomas Mars, has offered Ole Miss a chance to settle:
News: Houston Nutt attorney Tom Mars says he has submitted a lawsuit settlement proposal that he expects Ole Miss to be "very pleased" with.

Mars says this is a "selfless and virtuous way for Houston to clear his name while giving Ole Miss an easy and painless exit" from lawsuit.

Depending on what the terms of the settlement are, the Rebels might be wise to accept it and try to put this whole ugly chapter behind them.
Otherwise, there’s no telling what Nutt could win if the case goes to trial.
