Alabama RB Bo Scarbrough burst onto the scene last year, putting together an incredible four-game stretch starting with the Iron Bowl matchup against Auburn.

However, his season came to an unfortunate end during the College Football Playoff national championship game against Clemson when he broke his leg.

As he tries to work his way back to full strength this fall, Scarbrough told AL.com that he feels like he can be even better in 2017:

“I worked back to where I was,” Scarbrough said. “Now I’m better and hopefully great things can happen.”

Scarbrough added that the rehab process was difficult, but he feels that only made him stronger:

“You have to work on the days you don’t feel like working,” he said. “Those are the days that you get better and stronger.”

The Alabama backfield will be crowded this season, with Scarbrough competing for carries with Damien Harris, Josh Jacobs and 5-star freshman Najee Harris.

But, if Scarbrough really is back at full strength, he could emerge as the featured runner among that star-studded group.
