Twitter reacts to Antonio Callaway's suspension
Big news broke Sunday when Florida announced that star WR Antonio Callaway and six others had been suspended for the season opener against Michigan.
Although this is huge news ahead of the opener, the other six players aside from Callaway weren’t major impact players. Jim McElwain is scheduled to address the media Monday, but it’s unclear just how much light he’ll shed on this subject.
Immediately after the news, reactions poured in from media members, Florida fans and college football fans in general.
On field, Callaway suspension is a big missed opp, both for him and scouts. Off field, he’ll take up a lot of scouts’ homework time.

Antonio Callaway is one of the most talented WRs in the nation, but his off-field list is getting long https://t.co/oaISNSDnn6

Antonio Callaway is a 1st rd talent, but off-field issues will push him down the board. Here he creates huge separation vs. Derwin James. pic.twitter.com/ITwNfxkw5w

UF has a great gymnastics squad. You can tell by the way they contort themselves every which way to defend Callaway still being on that team

Former Gator Shannon Snell complimented Jim McElwain on handling the issue:
Disappointed with Callaway. Again. But mad props to Coach Mac for urgent discipline. Michigan or not, you do the crime, you do the time 👍🏾

Former ESPN reporter Derek Tyson pointed Florida’s depth at wide receiver and defensive line with Callaway and DE Keivonnis Davis suspended:
Callaway is certainly the most explosive playmaker for Florida, but those are two areas where the Gators are very deep. https://t.co/kS599AbWMW
