Most sportsbooks have Michigan as a four-point favorite over Florida, but Gators coach Jim McElwain is confidently predicting a big win for UF.

Speaking at a student pep rally in Ben Hill Griffin Stadium before Florida students begin their first day of fall semester, McElwain didn’t hold back.

“I love the energy, can’t wait to see you,” McElwain said after thanking students for buying all available season tickets. “And you know what, we’re heading to Dallas here in a couple weeks to go beat the heck out of Michigan and then come back to you guys.”

The last time McElwain faced Michigan, it didn’t go so well for the Gators. Michigan won a 41-7 blowout in the Citrus Bowl following the 2015 season. In the Week 1 rematch, the Florida offense will have to find a playmaker other than Antonio Callaway, as the junior wideout is one of seven players suspended for the game.
