Chiefs coach Andy Reid gives injury update on former Tennessee S Eric Berry
Though the Kansas City Chiefs did what not many other teams have done in the past decade by beating the New England Patriots in Foxboro on Thursday night, the 42-27 victory came at a cost.
Star S Eric Berry, a former Tennessee Volunteer, left the game with what appeared to be a serious injury, and that turned out to be the case.
On Friday, coach Andy Reid told NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport that Berry ruptured his Achilles and would miss the rest of the season:

Berry made seven tackles (one for a loss) before leaving the game. As one of the leaders of the Chiefs’ defense, he’ll certainly be missed.
In 2016, Berry made 77 tackles and had four interceptions, two of which he returned for touchdowns. He’ll be tough to replace moving forward.
