If Georgia wins at Notre Dame Saturday night, they’ll have to do it without starting quarterback Jacob Eason. The sophomore sprained his knee in the opener against Appalachian State and has been ruled out for the game against the Fighting Irish. His status is week-to-week at this point.

Without Eason in the lineup, the Bulldogs have turned to true freshman Jake Fromm. Saturday night will be Fromm’s first career start, but he performed well in the opener after Eason went down and has been praised all week for his maturity and leadership from many within the Bulldog program.

While some may suspect at least some level of animosity between the two young quarterbacks, Eason dispelled any such notion this week with an Instagram post displaying his support for Fromm.

It wasn’t clear if Eason was planning to make the trip to Notre Dame following his injury, but he is indeed in South Bend and will be cheering on his teammates from the sidelines.

Here’s a pic of Eason, who was spotted on the field during warmups.
