Though the Georgia Bulldogs are 3-0 this season, they’ve had to win without starting QB Jacob Eason, who injured his knee in Week 1 vs. Appalachian State.

Fortunately for the Bulldogs, true freshman QB Jake Fromm stepped in and has played well, guiding the team to wins over Notre Dame and Samford.

Now that a huge SEC matchup against Mississippi State is on the schedule for this weekend, coach Kirby Smart said on Monday that he expects Eason to return to practice this week:

Returning to practice and returning to the starting lineup are two very different things, and it remains to be seen if Eason’s knee will hold up.

However, if Fromm has to make his third-straight start on Saturday, at least the Bulldogs know they’ll be in good hands with the true freshman at the helm.
