Former Alabama S Landon Collins has quickly become a star in the NFL for the New York Giants.

However, he wouldn’t be where he is today without the lessons imparted by Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban, who had a big impact on the third-year pro.

Appearing on “We Need to Talk” on CBS Sports Network, Collins revealed that the best advice he ever got from Saban, and what makes him the player he is today, is about tackling:

“My biggest thing is everybody calls me a sure tackler,” Collins said. “I rarely miss tackles. So I would say he always would say: ‘Attack the upfield shoulder.’ If you attack the upfield shoulder, you will never get a person to cross back the field on you or you’ll never miss a tackle. And since that point on, I never missed a tackle.”

He also discussed how it was harder to play for Saban at Alabama than it has been to transition to the NFL. Check out the full segment.
