It’s been a rough couple of weeks for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, having lost back-to-back games to Georgia and Auburn.

However, coach Dan Mullen’s squad got some good news on Tuesday night, as the state of Mississippi’s No. 2 overall 2018 recruit pledged his allegiance to the Bulldogs.

According to The Clarion-Ledger, 3-star DE James Williams will join the Mississippi State program next year:

“The fact that I know I can come in right away and play was a factor in my decision,” Williams said. “I also feel at home in Starkville.”

According to the 247Sports composite, Williams is the No. 15 strong-side defensive end in the class of 2018 and the No. 2 overall player in the state of Mississippi.

The Bulldogs now have 25 members in their 2018 class, which ranks No. 6 in the SEC and No. 17 nationally.
