Last week, former Georgia coach Mark Richt said he’s been impressed with the work current UGA coach Kirby Smart has done since replacing him before the 2016 season.

Now at Miami, Richt hasn’t done a bad job either, as Smart and Richt’s teams are both undefeated.

On Tuesday, as the Bulldogs head into their bye week, Smart told OnlineAthens.com that he thinks Richt has done a great job with the Hurricanes, too:

“I think Mark’s done a tremendous job,” Smart said Tuesday. “I actually got to see some of the Miami game because we watched (Georgia) Tech some this week so I got to see some of that game.”

He added that Richt has injected new life into the Miami program and is doing a great job on the recruiting trails:

“I think Coach Richt has got a rejuvenated energy and has done a good job down there,” Smart said. “They’re playing really hard and they’re recruiting well. He’s also done a tremendous job.”

If both teams continue their current trajectories, a postseason matchup isn’t out of the question. That would certainly be an interesting one for the two connected coaches.
