Alabama has been dominating opponents on the ground all year, but against LSU on Saturday night, the Crimson Tide couldn’t get much going.

In fact, on 36 carries, the Tide only had 116 rushing yards, though they did score two touchdowns on the ground.

RB Bo Scarbrough had 11 carries for 39 yards and a touchdown, but said after the game that Alabama needs to be better running the ball against tough defenses (via AL.com):

“We have to run the ball because that’s what Alabama do,” Scarbrough said. “We gotta be able to run the ball in these kind of games especially against LSU. They are very physical. We know it’s going to be a hard game.”

With games against ranked teams like Mississippi State and Auburn coming up in the next three weeks, the Tide will have to do a better job controlling the line of scrimmage.

QB Jalen Hurts is a talented runner, but he isn’t an elite passer just yet, so if the Tide can’t move the chains on the ground, they’ll continue to struggle down the stretch.
