Tennessee, Paul Finebaum use SEC Network interview to poke fun at coaching search followers
While countless SEC fans are watching airports from Gainesville to Knoxville looking for the latest developments in coaching searches across the conference, Tennessee took a light-hearted angle to fans waiting for updates.
The official Tennessee football Twitter account promoted a Thursday interview on The Paul Finebaum Show, hosted by Peter Burns, with interim coach Brady Hoke, in part as if it was “breaking news.”
For his part, Burns continued the theme as he opened the interview with a question about Hoke wearing a headset. Hoke, who was known for not wearing a headset on the sideline while he was the coach at Michigan, confirmed that he would continue wearing a headset as he has all season.
The 4-6 Vols, who will play their first game without recently fired coach Butch Jones, will play host to LSU at 7 p.m. on Saturday.
