All has been quiet on the #Grumors front for a while now, as the Monday Night Football analyst has seemingly been taken out of consideration for the open Tennessee job.

However, in the words of College GameDay analyst Lee Corso… “Not so fast, my friend.” On Sunday morning, CBS Sports reporter Jason La Canfora reported that the Vols are still in discussions with Gruden to take over as the next head coach of the program.

The report by Jason La Canfora, which can be found here, states that interest from Tennessee has grown once again in recent days:

The University of Tennessee is again interested in hiring former Super Bowl-winning coach Jon Gruden as its next head coach, sources said, reaching out to the current broadcaster to explore his interest in the job. Sources said school officials have discussed the matter with him, with Gruden a top target for the Volunteers.

The Vols are reportedly willing to throw a massive amount of money Gruden’s way, with a $10 million salary and $8 million for assistants.

The report goes into details about who Gruden would want on his staff to be in charge of recruiting and whether the Vols can compete with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers should Gruden also have interest in that job.
