The SEC has announced Missouri is heading to Texas to face the Longhorns this bowl season.

College football insider Brett McMurphy was the first to break the news.

Somehow, someway, the Missouri Tigers rebounded from an abysmal 1-5 start and won their final six games of the regular season. At 7-5, the Tigers will go bowling for the first time since 2014, when they won the Citrus Bowl over Minnesota.

When the Tigers play this postseason, they’ll head to an area they recruit in heavily when they go to Houston to take on the Texas Longhorns in the Texas Bowl:

The Tigers and Longhorns have a long history, dating back to when Mizzou was in the Big 12. Texas leads the all-time series 17-6, but the Tigers picked up the most recent victory in the matchup back in 2011.

The Texas Bowl will be held Wednesday, Dec. 27, in Houston. Kickoff is at 8 p.m. Central time on ESPN.
