Willie Taggart’s tenure at Oregon didn’t last very long, as the first-year Ducks coach was hired by Florida State on Tuesday.

Now, the Ducks are back on the clock with their second coaching search in as many years, but first, they have a bowl game to take care of.

Oregon will play Boise State in the Las Vegas Bowl on Dec. 16, and will do so with former Alabama OL coach Mario Cristobal at the helm as the interim coach:

Cristobal was a part of Nick Saban’s Alabama staff from 2013 to 2016, but left to join Taggart’s Oregon staff as the co-offensive coordinator for this season.

Cristobal has also been rumored to be in the mix to land the full-time position, but whether the former FIU head coach gets that chance remains to be seen.

A big-time performance in the Ducks’ bowl game would be a good start for Cristobal, though.
