Ed Orgeron commented on the Matt Canada situation Thursday.

If you haven’t heard about the “situation,” it includes what many people believe is the inevitable replacement of the current LSU offensive coordinator.

Coach O offered some reassurance that Canada would be calling plays in the Tigers’ upcoming bowl game against Notre Dame, but honestly, it didn’t sound too reassuring.

“This is about these young men, about us coming to play Notre Dame in the Citrus Bowl, about us winning 10 games. That’s what our focus is on,” Orgeron said when asked about Canada, according to a report from Ross Dellenger of The Advocate. “Matt right now is our offensive coordinator. He will call plays in the game. Our focus is on beating Notre Dame.”

It’s that right now part that doesn’t seem all that reassuring — at least for Canada’s sake.

The Advocate cited multiple sources that said LSU planned to part ways with Canada after the Citrus Bowl.

That’s consistent with what other outlets have reported, as well. At this point, it would be shocking if Canada returned as the Tigers’ OC.
