What Derrius Guice said about his looming NFL decision
LSU fell in heartbreaking fashion in the Citrus Bowl on Monday, losing 21-17 to Notre Dame.
However, star RB Derrius Guice played well, rushing for 98 yards and catching three passes for 24 yards and two touchdowns.
Was that the last time we’ll ever see Guice in an LSU uniform? He wasn’t ready to make an announcement following Monday’s game:
Guice not making any announcement on returning or going pro. Says he'll sit down with Orgeron. #LSU

Guice on staying or going pro: "I don't really think about it. Past focus is on (bowl game)." #LSU

Coach Ed Orgeron said he’d put his recruiting hat on and try to convince Guice to stay:
Guice says he has to talk with Orgeron about playing one more season or leaving for the NFL.
Orgeron: “Gotta put my recruiting hat on.”

It might not make much sense for Guice to stay, though, as he would likely be an early pick in the 2018 NFL Draft should he decide to declare.
It’ll be interesting to see what Guice decides to do, but if he can make first-round money in the NFL, he should go. If Coach O tries to get him to stay in that case, it’ll be a bad look for the Tigers.
