While Sony Michel’s touchdown run in the second overtime of the Rose Bowl was what officially sent Georgia to the National Championship Game, it was Lorenzo Carter’s block of Oklahoma kicker Austin Seibert’s field goal attempt that gave the Bulldogs the chance to win the game with any score.

In a game filled with offensive fireworks, it was fitting that Georgia’s defense stepped up and made arguably the biggest play of the game after a season of one highlight after another on the field.

Immediately after the 54-48 Georgia win, Carter was interviewed on the Rose Bowl field and asked to share what exactly was going on in his head leading up to the play and what had occurred to give him a chance to block the kick.
