It appears Jacob Eason didn’t have to take long to figure out what he plans to do following the emergence of Jake Fromm. Less than 12 hours after the end of Georgia’s season, one report claims Eason is on his way out of Athens with the intention of transferring to Washington.

Eason was rated as a five-star prospect coming out of high school and was the No. 2 pro-style quarterback and the No. 5 overall recruit in the nation in the 2016 recruiting cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He originally committed to Mark Richt’s staff but decided to stay on and play for Kirby Smart despite attempts from Florida and Washington to flip his commitment after Richt left the program.

News of his intending transfer comes from Adam Jude of the Seattle Times. According to Jude, multiple sources have indicated Eason plans to leave Georgia with the likely destination of Washington.

According to Jude, Eason was asked about his future late Monday night following the title game and he decided against revealing his plans.

“Going to sit down with my family and figure that out,” Eason said. “Right now, I’m just spending time with this team … and we’ll go from there.”

Eason would be required to sit out the 2018 season if he transferred to another FBS school per NCAA rules. He never redshirted at Georgia, however, so he could do so during his transfer season and still have two seasons of eligibility in college.
