More good news for Kentucky this week as redshirt junior Denzil Ware announced he will return to school instead of leaving early for the 2018 NFL Draft. Ware is one of Kentucky’s most reliable defenders, making 12 appearances and seven starts last season. He had 19 consecutive starts heading into the 2017 season.

Ware joins Kentucky teammates linebacker Josh Allen and safety Mike Edwards in deciding to come back for another run at the East title in 2018. In fact, Ware cited that goal in his announcement Thursday afternoon.

“After long consideration and discussion with my family, I have decided to return for my senior year at Kentucky. Ya boy is back! Let’s win the East.”

Ware has started for Kentucky since his redshirt freshman season. He missed the Music City Bowl after being suspended due to a violation of team rules, according to Mark Stoops. Soon after his suspension was made public, his teammate Benny Snell defender the character of Ware.
