Pass rusher Arden Key had an incredible sophomore year at LSU in 2016, recording 11 sacks and 12.5 tackles for loss.

However, in 2017, he battled injuries and ineffectiveness, basically falling off the map while recording only four sacks in eight games this year.

Now, according to one anonymous NFL executive, Key’s NFL Draft status has taken a major hit. The scout, interviewed by NFL.com, said no one with his team really knows what to make of Key at this point:

“We had guys who had huge grades on him coming into the season and they plummeted during the season. We’re still trying to sort him out.”

Key was once a lock to be a first-round pick, but now he has a lot of work to do in the coming weeks if he wants to make it back to that level.

When will he hear his name called? That remains to be seen, but he holds his future in his hands moving forward.
