When the NFL Combine invites began to trickle out, there was one SEC quarterback noticeably absent from the guest list — Arkansas’s Austin Allen.

Yes, Allen struggled at times in 2017, but that was due as much to injury and a shaky offensive line than it was about his skills.

However, now the NFL has indeed extended Allen an invitation to the Scouting Combine, according to a tweet from Ken Mastrole. Allen has since confirmed the news.

As a junior in 2016, Allen threw for 3,430 yards, 25 touchdowns and 15 interceptions, playing in all 13 games for the Hogs.

In 2017, he only appeared in eight games, throwing for 1,427 yards, 10 scores and five picks. Now that he’s healthy though, it’ll be interesting to see if he can work his way into the later rounds of April’s NFL Draft.
