The reaction in Tuscaloosa to finishing behind Georgia in the 2018 recruiting rankings was swift — facility upgrades are coming to Alabama.

According to Ed Enoch of The Tuscaloosa News, Alabama has approved plans to renovate the current recruiting lounge in Tuscaloosa. Alabama’s recruiting lounge is currently located in the Mal Moore Athletic Facility.

The school itself will reportedly not pay the $2 million price tag to upgrade the facility, the money is coming from the Crimson Tide Foundation. Here’s what the proposed upgrades will be for Nick Saban’s program:

The work will include upgrading finishes, enhancing audio/visual systems, and new graphics and furniture. The project will also address approximately $680,000 in deferred maintenance cost by replacing old lighting and finishes.

You knew the reaction to Saban’s program finishing behind Kirby Smart in recruiting rankings would be swift. Who knew it would come the day after National Signing Day?
