Texas A&M announces suspension of two basketball players
It was a bad day to be named JJ (or Jay Jay) in College Station on Sunday, as Texas A&M was forced to suspend two men’s basketball players.
Point guard JJ Caldwell was reportedly kicked off the team and guard Jay Jay Chandler was suspended.
Both players were suspended for violations of team rules, according to reports that surfaced on Twitter Sunday evening:
Texas A&M has announced that point guard J.J. Caldwell has been dismissed from the basketball team. Guard Jay Jay Chandler has been suspended indefinitely.

Neither player was a starter, but both played key roles off the bench. Caldwell averaged 2.9 points, 2.6 assists and 1.9 rebounds per game, while Chandler scored four points and grabbed one rebound per night.
This couldn’t come at a worse time for the Aggies, who are fresh off a win against Kentucky on Saturday night. With a game against red-hot Mizzou on Tuesday, the Aggies are going to be shorthanded.
