Chad Morris’ recruiting ability is going to be put to the test immediately during his first year on the job at Arkansas, as the state’s top prospect has just landed an offer from Alabama.

Of course, Hudson Henry is more than just an elite prospect; he’s an Arkansas legacy from Razorback stronghold Pulaski Academy in Little Rock. The younger brother of former Arkansas All-American tight end, now San Diego Charger, Hunter Henry, Hudson is currently ranked as a four-star prospect and the nation’s No. 1 tight end for 2019 according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He’s also been invited to play in the 2019 Under Armour All-American Game.

While the 6-foot-5, 225-pound Henry will have plenty of reasons to pick the Razorbacks, Morris and his staff will have to work incredibly hard to keep the Natural State’s top prospect from leaving, as nearly every SEC program has begun to recruit him — as well as national powers Florida State, Ohio State, Michigan, Notre Dame and Penn State, among others.

The early momentum of Morris’ program will be won or lost on the recruiting trail, and Henry’s decision will play a huge factor in how smooth or rocky the transition is under the new Razorback coach. Bret Bielema was never able to land a win over Nick Saban, but Morris may be able to do so before the two programs even meet on the field if Henry pledges to the Razorbacks over the Crimson Tide.
