Kentucky has had mixed news when it comes to players deciding whether to declare for the 2018 NBA Draft or return to school.

However, one of the players expected to declare did just that on Monday night, as star PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander said on SportsCenter that he’d be turning pro.

According to his announcement, he plans to sign with an agent, which means he will not be eligible to return to Kentucky next year:

Gilgeous-Alexander could be a lottery pick, as he really improved his draft stock as the 2017-18 season wore on.

He averaged 14.4 points, 5.1 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.6 steals per game, and was named the MVP of the SEC Tournament, which the Wildcats won for a fourth-straight season.
