Johnny Manziel apparently suffered a medical scare recently, as the former Texas A&M and Cleveland Browns quarterback was admitted to a Texas hospital.

The good news is Manziel is already out, according to TMZ Sports. The reason for his trip to the hospital is being reported as an adverse reaction following an adjustment to his medication. However, none of this information has been confirmed at this time.

Manziel has had a busy offseason working out for NFL scouts in San Diego and in College Station. The Heisman Trophy winner has not played football professionally since the 2015 season after being selected in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft by Cleveland. He has since admitted he suffers from bipolar disorder and is currently taking medication to deal with his diagnosis.

UPDATE: Manziel has confirmed his trip to the hospital and left the following message on his Instagram account.

“Thank you everyone for your concern and kind messages. Unfortunately I had a reaction to an increased dosage in Lithium which I take for my Bipolar disorder.”

“It was a scary moment and I’m especially grateful for the staff at the hospital and all that they’ve done in the last 24 hours.”
