Bret Bielema ran his program the right way and Arkansas had its moments under the former Razorback coach but the reason he’s gone is simple, a 4-8 season just isn’t good enough in Fayetteville. That’s something Chad Morris understands well and according to the new leader of the Arkansas program, his players understand that as well as anyone.

During a recent appearance on SiriusXM radio show SEC This Morning, Morris was asked to share his thoughts on what he knows about his team that he may not have known entering his first spring practice at Arkansas.

“I know that they are hungry. I know they understand that 4-8 is completely unacceptable,” Morris said during his appearance. “They felt that. They felt it all year long.”

The Arkansas coach also revealed that he met with each member of his program following the conclusion of spring football for the Razorbacks and the consensus statement was an eagerness to return to the field and right the wrongs of last season.

“I met with 117 players. It took me about five days to do it but I wanted them to hear from me and I wanted to hear from them,” Morris continued. “Everything resonated the same that, ‘Man coach, we can’t wait to get back. We feel like we are on a mission’ and they are driven by what happened last year.”
