While negative headlines seem to gain the most attraction these days, there’s still plenty of good deeds out there worthy of highlighting and the latest example of that comes from Miami Dolphins defensive lineman Charles Harris.

The former standout Mizzou pass rusher is giving back to his former high school to the tune of $100,000 dollars in donation to help renovate the Lincoln College Preparatory Academy football stadium.

“High school is where it all began for me,” Harris said in an interview with Mara Rose Williams of the Kansas City Star. “This is a great opportunity for me to give back to my high school, to my community, for me to say to others that it is OK, … it’s cool.”

According to Harris, the field was in such bad shape during his high school career that the team was not able to play games on the surface. Thanks in part to Harris’ donation, the field will soon meet the requirements necessary for Lincoln College Preparatory Academy to host games.

Harris was the No. 22 overall selection in the 2017 NFL Draft. He registered 19 tackles and two sacks in his first NFL season with the Dolphins last season.
