Favored on neutral court, Kentucky or Duke? Head oddsmaker makes his selection
Kentucky’s stock continues to rise this offseason as the Wildcats have now added former All-Pac 12 player Reid Travis from Stanford as a graduate transfer. Travis announced his decision on Wednesday.
The addition of Travis comes after two five-star prospects, Ashton Hagans and E.J. Montgomery, also pledged to join John Calipari’s program. While the Wildcats did lose Kevin Knox, Jarred Vanderbilt and Wenyen Gabriel to the NBA, many are likely to consider Kentucky as the favorite to win it all following the commitment of Travis.
While Kentucky will undoubtedly be among the favorites, don’t overlook Duke heading into next season. According to Doug Kezirian of ESPN, the head oddsmaker at the Westgate sportsbook in Las Vegas would favor Duke by 2.5 over Kentucky.
It’s an interesting debate and one that will linger heading into the start of the upcoming season.
Head Westgate oddsmaker said Duke would be favored by 2.5 points over Kentucky on a neutral court. He considers Duke the top team and Kentucky second-best, "for now". https://t.co/OnpAILiOu3
