After realizing his life-long dream of making it to the NFL, Derrius Guice now has other goals outside the football field on his in mind.

While he’s already done quite a bit to embrace himself to his new Washington fanbase (Guice was selected by the Redskins with the No. 59 overall selection in the 2018 NFL Draft), Guice hasn’t forgotten about where he comes from and has proclaimed he will do everything he can to help people in similar situations to the tough circumstances he experienced growing up. In addition to that pledge, Guice is putting his money where his mouth is by setting up a GoFundMe page after visiting the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Louisiana.

Guice hoped to raise $15,000 with the page, a goal the page met in just two days. He has since raised the goal to $20,000. The Washington Redskin running back has even pledged to give out prizes to those that help support the cause.

Here’s the message Guice provided on the GoFundMe page he set up for the Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center:

I will play anyone on Fornite that donates $5

Everyone who donates $50 will get to come bowl and hang out with me next Friday, June 29th at All-Star Lanes in Baton Rouge from 12-5 pm
Everyone who donates $100 or more will be entered to win 2 tickets to the Monday Night Football game- Redskins vs. Saints in New Orleans on 10/08/18.

I WILL MATCH THE FIRST $1,000 IN DONATIONS!

Cancer is a disease that I am passionate about.  It takes so many lives and loved ones each year.  One of my best friend’s mother went to Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center and was able to leave ringing that bell.  It is the bell each patient rings when they have beat cancer.  I want to continue to have people ring that bell and bring a cure to this disease that has touched almost everyone’s life in some way or the other!

Let’s help cure this cause together!
