The hottest debate in college football this summer involves the Alabama Crimson Tide and who should start at quarterback for the defending national champions.

The battle is between Tua Tagovailoa and incumbent starter Jalen Hurts, and by many accounts, Tagovailoa is the leader in the clubhouse.

However, when the CBS Sports “Inside College Football” crew debated the topic, there was a split on who they thought should start:

Brian Jones and Rick Neuheisel seem to favor Tagovailoa getting the Week 1 nod, while Aaron Taylor and Randy Cross favor giving Hurts another year as the starter, primarily because of the way he takes care of the ball.

It’s unlikely that an official decision will be made any time soon, so there’s sure to be plenty of additional debate on this topic in the coming weeks.
