After signing AJ McCarron this offseason, the Buffalo Bills also drafted Wyoming’s Josh Allen in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft, setting a quarterback competition in motion.

Then, during the Bills’ most-recent preseason game, McCarron went down with an injured shoulder, which was thought to be a broken collarbone at the time.

However, after getting a second opinion, it has been determined that McCarron did not suffer a broken collarbone and is expected to return to practice soon:

Prior to this news, the Bills announced that Allen would start their third preseason game, which will take place this week. However, with McCarron back in the mix, we’ll see if that plan changes.

The entire quarterback situation in Buffalo is still completely up in the air, it seems.
