WATCH: Former Arkansas coach says Hogs should compete for SEC title ‘every 3 years’

Jack Crowe served as the head coach at Arkansas from 1990 to 1992, going 9-15 before being fired after the first game of the 1992 season.
However, he still has fond memories of his time in Fayetteville and is still a big believer in what the Razorbacks should be able to do on a yearly basis.
As you can see in the video below, Crowe joined “Sports Talk with Bo Mattingly” and said he thinks the Hogs should be able to compete for an SEC championship every three years:

“Every three years, this program ought to be in the championship game, in my opinion,” he says. “It’s not there right now. Even when I watched them play under Bret (Bielema), those are still Hogs. … Yeah, you’ve got to go out and cherry-pick some great players, but they may be hidden in a 3-star category, but you’ve got to get them.
“But you don’t have to match Alabama’s talent to beat them. Not in Arkansas. In Arkansas, you can bring an attitude to every game that will give you a winning edge because of where you’re from and what your traditions are. I don’t think those traditions have gone away.”
Since the SEC Championship Game was started back in 1992, the Hogs have only played in the game twice (2002 and 2006), losing both times. The Razorbacks have a long way to go to reach Crowe’s expectations, but hopes are high under new coach Chad Morris.
