Kylin Hill had a coming out party of sorts last weekend for those around the nation unfamiliar with Mississippi State’s outstanding sophomore running back. On the road against Kansas State, Hill busted out for 211 rushing yards and two touchdowns and was the star of Hail State’s offensive unit on Saturday in a 31-10 win.

Keep in mind Hill is now starting over Aeris Williams who rushed for over 1,100 yards for the Bulldogs last season. The fact that Joe Moorhead is comfortable enough to start Hill should tell you all you need to know about his ability. That being said, Moorhead dropped another nugget that should have Hail State fans everywhere excited about Hill’s future in Starkville.

According to the Mississippi State head coach and former Penn State offensive coordinator, Hill shares some traits with his former star pupil Saquon Barkley.

“They combine the skills, this sounds weird, they have small back skills in a big back body — if that makes sense,” Moorhead said during a recent appearance on SiriusXM radio show SEC This Morning. “Both Saquon and Kylin are bigger guys, they can run between the tackles and as you saw, people bouncing off of Kylin and getting yards after contact. They possess enough shake in the open field to make people miss and as you saw catching the wheel route, they are threats out of the backfield, as well.”

That’s quite the comparison to make but one that has got to have Bulldog fans fired up to see more highlights from Hill in Moorhead’s offense.
