Tennessee coach Jeremy Pruitt learned from Nick Saban — a great mentor in nearly every aspect of being a coach.

Now, it’s clear he’s taken Saban’s penchant for “ass chewings” to heart, and the target of his first Tennessee rant was sophomore LB Deandre Johnson.

As you can see in the video below, Pruitt got up in Johnson’s face during the first quarter of Saturday’s game against UTEP:

What did Johnson do to earn such an ass chewing? He was the 12th man on the field during a key play, drawing a penalty flag.

It’s clear that Pruitt will tolerate physical mistakes (as long as they’re made with max effort), but he has much less patience for mental errors. Johnson likely won’t make this mistake again.
