The Auburn Tigers haven’t had the season they thought they’d have. Entering Week 10, they find themselves with a 5-3 record and only a 2-3 record against SEC foes.

That has put a lot of pressure on coach Gus Malzahn, who, despite signing a 7-year, $49-million extension in the offseason, finds himself on the hot seat.

This week, Auburn AD Allen Greene spoke with reporters and said the season has been disappointing for everyone involved:

It’s tough to read too much into those comments, but Auburn needs to have a strong finish to the season or Malzahn could be under a lot more pressure come December.

That won’t be easy, though, as games against Texas A&M, Georgia and Alabama loom large on the Tigers’ schedule.
