Following a fast start to the season, Ole Miss has dropped three consecutive league games but still have an opportunity to close out 2018 with two wins before heading into the offseason. To do so, the Rebels will have to get a win on the road this weekend in Nashville.

If that’s going to happen, Ole Miss is most likely going to need quarterback Jordan Ta’amu and running back Scottie Phillip available, as Vanderbilt appears to be an improving team capable of defending their home turf come Saturday.

The good news for Ole Miss is their QB appears to be well on his way to making a return to the field. According to Matt Luke, Ta’amu is “better and should be good to do on Saturday.” The Ole Miss coach also noted that Scottie Phillips is day-to-day with an ankle injury while receiver Braylon Sanders is expected to be ready to play.

During his Monday media availability, Luke was also asked to share his comments on AJ Brown, who is now the school’s all-time leader in receptions.

“I’ve been around a lot of great receivers at Ole Miss. For him to be the all-time leading receiver is a huge accomplishment – to do it in a really short time says a lot to him about a player.”
