This offseason, Kentucky LB Josh Paschal received a scary diagnosis — he had a malignant melanoma in his foot.

Paschal has spent the entire season battling the cancer, but now it appears he is well enough to play against Middle Tennessee.

On Saturday morning, Kentucky announced that the sophomore linebacker was in the starting lineup for the first time this season:

Paschal has had multiple procedures on his foot as he’s battled the melanoma, but he’ll be on the field for the first time since last year’s bowl game on Saturday.

Hopefully, today’s game goes well and he’s able to play next week at Louisville and in Kentucky’s bowl game, too. Congrats, Josh!
