It appears Gus Malzahn will be working on a total rebuild of his offense next season as offensive coordinator Chip Lindsey isn’t the only one leaving Auburn this offseason.

According to multiple reports, including AL.com, Jarrett Stidham plans to leave Auburn for the 2019 NFL Draft.

It’s fair to say Stidham regressed on the field this season under Malzahn and Lindsey and without consistent play from the team’s quarterback, the Tigers struggled immensely on the offensive side of the ball. Auburn went 7-6 on the field following last season’s 10-3 regular season, which included an SEC West title.

Stidham completed 66.5 percent of his passes in 2017, throwing 18 touchdowns to six interceptions and 3,158 yards. This season, Stidham completed only 60.1 percent of his passes for 13 touchdowns and five interceptions for 2,421 yards on the season.

Now the question becomes Stidham’s availability for the team’s bowl trip, Auburn is set to play Purdue in the Music City Bowl, as it’s becoming more common for NFL prospects to sit out the bowl game. At this time, it’s unclear whether Stidham plans to participate in the game or now.

His teammate Derrick Brown has already confirmed he plans to suit up for the Tigers, however, he has not made it clear if he plans to leave school after his junior season for the NFL.
