Nick Saban shares update on Tua Tagovailoa after procedure

Ahead of Thursday’s college football awards, all four College Football Playoff head coaches met with the media.

One of the big questions heading into No. 1 Alabama vs. No. 4 Oklahoma in the CFP semifinal is the health of Crimson Tide starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who left the SEC Championship Game in the fourth quarter. Less than a week out from the injury and the procedure that followed, coach Nick Saban had an encouraging update to share.

“I think Tua’s right on schedule,” Saban said. “The procedure they did usually takes two weeks for a guy to have explosive movement. … We’re pleased with the progress he’s made to this point.”

On Wednesday, Alabama LB Jonah Williams offered some insight into the procedure Tagovailoa had.
