The Georgia Bulldogs and Texas Longhorns both had bigger aspirations than the Sugar Bowl, but it is a nice consolation prize for a pair of teams that just missed out on the College Football Playoff.

Still, expect both Kirby Smart and Tom Herman’s teams to come out ready to play on New Year’s Day, as the Sugar Bowl is still a New Year’s 6 game.

On Friday, ESPN’s Mark Schlabach picked all the bowl matchups, and as you can see below, he thinks Georgia will win in New Orleans by 10 points:

  • Georgia 38, Texas 28

QB Jake Fromm and RB D’Andre Swift lead a talented Georgia offense against a Texas defense that has struggled in recent weeks.

The game kicks off at 8:45 p.m. Eastern time on New Year’s Day and can be seen on ESPN.
