Louisville’s former top pass rusher Jonathan Greenard is officially no longer a member of the Cardinals’ football program.

It was reported earlier this month that Greenard intended to become a graduate transfer to Florida for the 2019 season, reuniting with DC Todd Grantham, and now that he’s officially announced he’ll be transferring, this could happen rather quickly.

The Gators could be losing as many as three of its top defensive linemen in Cece Jefferson (graduation), junior DE Jachai Polite (NFL Draft hopeful) and redshirt junior DE Jabari Zuniga (NFL Draft hopeful), and adding a player like Greenard would be huge for the Gators’ defensive front.

Greenard, as a redshirt sophomore in 2017, led Louisville with 15.5 tackles for loss and tied for the team lead with seven sacks. The pass rusher suffered a wrist injury in the first week of the 2018 season and did not return.
