The Alabama Crimson Tide gave No. 3 Tennessee a scare on Saturday, but couldn’t quite put the Vols away late in the second half.

One of the biggest calls in the game had some controversy with it, as Alabama G John Petty was whistled for traveling with only a few seconds left in the game.

Following the game, which Tennessee won 71-68, both Petty and coach Avery Johnson weighed in on the call. Both said they disagreed with it, but said they’ll have to live with it:

The Tide wouldn’t have been in the game at all without Petty, who scored 30 points and went 6-for-10 from the three-point line.

Alabama will need to learn from Saturday’s near-win over the SEC’s top team, and it’s safe to say the Tide are a team no one wants to play this year.
