This week, Alabama DL Isaiah Buggs is at the Senior Bowl in Mobile trying to improve his stock ahead of the 2019 NFL Draft.

Buggs was overshadowed by fellow Alabama DL Quinnen Williams this year, but still managed to put up strong numbers — 52 tackles (13.5 for a loss) and 9.5 sacks.

Below, Alabama coach Nick Saban was interviewed and asked about Buggs. He said Buggs has practiced against some of the best offensive linemen in the country and will make whatever team drafts him happy:

“The thing that people underestimate is that Isaiah Buggs practices every day against (former Alabama LT) Jonah Williams,” Saban said. “You talk to our players who are in the league now — they talk about how they were challenged every day in practice and how that helped them improve and become a more consistent player. I think whoever gets Buggs is going to get that kind of player.”

Buggs has already measured at 6-2 this week — not the 6-5 he’s listed at on the Alabama roster. Can he overcome that? We’ll find out in the coming months.
