While he may have never quite lived up to all his full potential in Oxford, many have D.K. Metcalf pegged as the top receiver prospect heading into the 2019 NFL Draft.

If you put any stock in the mock drafts that have begun to filter out in anticipation for the draft, Metcalf has been selected as the first receiver to be taken in many of the projections. If you find Adam Schefter to be credible, the ESPN NFL insider is calling Metcalf a “projected 1st-round pick” on Friday.

That’s not all Schefter had to say about Metcalf, as ESPN’s go-to NFL insider revealed on Twitter that Metcalf has been cleared for all football activities by the doctor that performed surgery on the former Rebels’ neck after the receiver’s season-ending neck injury.

That’s obviously great news for Metcalf and any NFL team that is looking to select a receiver early in the 2019 NFL Draft. Having Metcalf available to be tested physically likely will prove to be the difference between a top draft selection and potentially falling to the later rounds.

In his three seasons in Oxford, Metcalf caught 67 passes for 1,228 yards and 14 touchdowns. Most of his production was done in the final two seasons of his career as a Rebel.
