Eight SEC teams started the 2019 baseball season in the top 25 of the NCAA rankings, but the South Carolina Gamecocks weren’t one of them.

The season got off to a rough start for the Gamecocks, as they lost 6-5 to Liberty. However, they bounced back to win the season-opening series, winning 13-7 on Saturday and pulling off a wild win on Sunday.

As you can see below, the Gamecocks picked up a 3-2 victory on a wild pitch in the bottom of the ninth inning with the score tied 2-2:

That’s certainly not something you see every day, but the Gamecocks will definitely take it. Now, they sit at 2-1 following the weekend series against Liberty.

They’ll face Winthrop on Tuesday and Presbyterian on Wednesday before next weekend’s series against Utah Valley.
