The Tennessee Volunteers started their 2019 season with a three-game series against Appalachian State.

Now, three games into the season, the Vols are 3-0 and still haven’t allowed a run to cross home plate, sweeping the weekend series by scores of 6-0, 2-0 and 3-0.

A three-game sweep with zero runs allowed was a program first, as noted by the SEC Network following Sunday’s victory:

Andrew Schultz was on the mound to close out Sunday’s game, striking out all three batters he faced to finish the contest in dominant fashion:

The Vols host Northern Kentucky on Tuesday, with a series against Indiana coming up next weekend.

The scoreless streak isn’t likely to last much longer, but what a dominant start to the year for Tennessee!
