The Georgia Bulldogs fell to 1-12 in SEC play with a 68-67 loss to Mississippi State in Athens on Wednesday night, but the Dawgs continue to show some fight under first-year coach Tom Crean.

Sadly, one particular Georgia fan cost the team a chance to win this time around. After tying the game at 67 all, a questionable foul was called, sending MSU G Quinndary Weatherspoon to the line for two free throws with .5 seconds left.

Weatherspoon missed the first free throw, but wait! A Georgia fan threw a stuffed animal onto the court, earning a technical foul in the process. You can see the object coming into the frame behind Weatherspoon below:

The object likely didn’t impact Weatherspoon’s shot at all. Yes, he still would have had another shot left even without the technical, but giving him two more tries allowed him to make the technical shot and then intentionally miss the second free throw to run out the clock.

Hopefully that fan is identified and banned from future Georgia games, as there’s no place in college sports for that sort of fan behavior.
